What is i2r?
i2r (Ideas 2 Reality) is a professional design competition that showcases both design ideas or concepts and design realities – actual installations – that use either Armstrong Commercial Flooring products or Armstrong Commercial Ceilings and Wall Systems.
Enter your design in one of 4 categories: flooring or ceiling ideas for designs that haven't been installed OR ceiling or flooring realities for designs that became actual installations.

Submit a sketch or rendering* of your design that includes an Armstrong flooring or ceiling/wall product.
Reality Categories
Flooring Installation
Ceiling/Wall Installation
Submit a photo* of your installation that includes an Armstrong flooring or ceiling product.
*If you win, you will need to supply a high resolution image (300 dpi, 8” x 10”) of your winning entry to Armstrong organizers.
Judging: The two Idea winners will be chosen by online popular vote. The Reality winners will be judged by a highly respected panel of IIDA professionals.
Bonus Cash Prizes
Two "Reality" entries that demonstrate the best use of special Armstrong products: either Canopies or Clouds or NATURAL CREATIONS™ or REJUVENATIONS™ will be selected to receive a 2012 i2r Design Competition certificate and $500 cash.

We will also award two bonus cash prizes for Reality entries that feature special Armstrong products: EITHER Ceiling Canopies or Clouds OR NATURAL CREATIONS™ or REJUVENATIONS™ flooring.
Who can enter: This contest is open to residents of the United States only. You must be a professional architect, interior designer or specifier to participate.
How to enter: To enter, you must complete the online entry form and upload a file of your design idea or reality. Entries will only be accepted via this website.
*IMPORTANT: When you are ready to submit your entry, be prepared to complete the submission process when you log in. You will not be able to save your entry and return to the form later. View the entry form.
Submissions: For the Idea categories, please submit a digital room scene, perspective sketches or renderings. For the Reality categories, please submit a digital photograph of the finished installation. Entries must be electronic. Projects must have been completed in 2009 or later. If you have an idea or reality entry that uses both Armstrong commercial flooring and ceilings/wall systems, you may submit the entry in more than one category. You may submit up to 4 entries.
Judging Criteria: Submissions will be judged on the creativity of the design, the use of Armstrong products, the originality of the design and the successful incorporation of other interior finishes.
Judging Process:
Idea Categories: winners selected by online popular public vote
Reality Categories: winners selected by a panel of professionals from IIDA
Voting: Public voting for the Idea entries opens 12:00am, Monday, October 1, 2012. You may vote only once for each entry, but you may vote for as many entries as you'd like.
